Dennis K. Stone
Dennis K. Stone was a respected scientist and a key figure in the growth of the biotechnology industry in North Texas. Through his leadership at UT Southwestern Medical Center, he played a major role in advancing research, innovation, and technology development across the DallasāFort Worth region.
During his tenure, Dr. Stone led the Office for Technology Development and helped launch the BioCenter at the Southwestern Medical District. His enthusiasm for biotechnology helped build confidence among companies, investors, and researchers, contributing to the emergence of a thriving life sciences ecosystem in North Texas.
Born and raised in Dallas, Dr. Stone earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree from UT Southwestern. Over the course of his career, he held numerous leadership roles at UT Southwestern, including Professor of Internal Medicine, Physiology, and Biochemistry, and Vice President of Technology Development.
In 2011, he joined Remeditex Ventures as Chief Scientific Officer, where he helped guide investments in innovative Texas-based life sciences companies. Dr. Stoneās lasting impact on the biotechnology community continues to influence the regionās growth and success today.
