How BioNTX Member NCTM Matched North TXs' Rapidly Growing Biotech and Biopharma Industries
Since its start in 2012, the National Center for Therapeutics Manufacturing (NCTM) has trained more than 1,600 people and has been awarded research and educational projects worth more than $20 million.
NCTM at Texas A&M University has built an immersive portfolio of training programs to meet Texas’ rapid growing biotech and biopharmaceutical research and manufacturing industry. These programs train biopharmaceutical technicians and operators at all levels and provide advanced continuing education, supplying the current limited workforce with skilled professionals.
NCTM’s program curricula has been designed, developed, and delivered by industry professionals and academic subject matter experts. Program educational modules focus on current and next generation techniques for the manufacturing of vaccines and biopharmaceuticals and are offered in multiple formats; hands-on technical training, train-the-trainer, and online. Offering a catalog of more than 200-unit operation-based training modules, NCTM can rapidly customize hands-on programs designed around any company’s internal manufacturing processes from onboarding new hires to advanced professional development for tenured personnel.
In addition, NCTM provides enabling technologies to academic and medical researchers and start-ups through its blended infrastructure of academic, scientific, and industrial expertise. NCTM offers a complete range of bench-to-pilot bioprocessing and analytical equipment, from cell culture to purification. Recently, NCTM scientists performed process development and scale-up of a recombinant protein molecule that will be used for purification of monoclonal antibodies.
Advancing workforce education and applied research for the biopharmaceutical industry, NCTM is a member of the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station.
