CPRIT Approves Major Grants to Advance Texas' Cancer Research and Prevention Efforts

The governing body of the CPRIT has recently approved a significant series of grants to further the state's efforts in combating cancer. These grants, encompassing both academic research and prevention projects, represent the largest public commitment to cancer research made by any U.S. state.

CEO Wayne Roberts expressed his pride in CPRIT's impactful contributions, highlighting Texas' pivotal role as a national leader in cancer research and prevention. Among the approved grants are 46 academic research projects, covering a wide spectrum of cancer types. Notably, a portion of the funding will support research specifically focused on childhood and adolescent cancers, underscoring CPRIT's dedication to addressing various aspects of cancer prevention and treatment.
