CPRIT's $63M Initiative Showcases Global Impact, Attracting Innovative Researchers and Companies to Texas
The governing body of the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) has approved $63 million in grants, emphasizing the agency's global impact. These grants include recruiting a cancer researcher from Switzerland and supporting an Israeli company developing a novel product to alleviate the burden on breast cancer patients.
The awards were approved during the quarterly meeting of the CPRIT Oversight Committee at the Barbara Jordan State Office Building in Austin. CPRIT CEO Wayne Roberts highlighted the agency's role in making Texas a global leader in cancer research. Roberts stated, "Whether it's Switzerland, Israel, Houston, or Dallas, CPRIT is funding innovators and ideas that will shape the future of the fight against cancer. Around the world, CPRIT has positioned Texas as a hub for innovation in medical research and life science."
