Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: The Evolution of the TWU Center for Women in Business

Established in 2015 by the Texas Legislature, the Center for Women in Business at Texas Woman’s University aimed to provide comprehensive support for women venturing into business. Initially focusing on offering business education and insights into the business climate for women, the center later transitioned to become the TWU Center for Women Entrepreneurs. Under the leadership of Tracy Irby, an experienced entrepreneur, the center introduced the StartHER grant program in 2018, marking a significant milestone in supporting women-owned businesses in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
