UT Dallas Researcher Secures Grant to Explore Brain Stimulation for Cognitive Issues in Multiple Sclerosis Patients

Dr. John Hart Jr. at the University of Texas at Dallas has secured a $1.6 million grant from the Department of Defense to investigate the potential of low-level electrical brain stimulation in addressing cognitive issues among multiple sclerosis (MS) patients. As the Distinguished Chair in Neuroscience, Dr. Hart aims to validate the effectiveness of high-definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS) for MS patients experiencing difficulties in word retrieval over a three-year period.
