UT Tyler Professor Recognized for Health Education Contributions

Melinda Hermanns, PhD, RN

Dr. Melinda Hermanns, a distinguished School of Nursing professor at The University of Texas at Tyler, has been chosen for membership in The University of Texas Kenneth I. Shine, MD, Academy of Health Science Education. Expressing deep honor, she looks forward to contributing to the Academy's mission of promoting excellence in the health professions. Dr. Hermanns, previously recognized as an Outstanding Faculty by the Texas Alpha Xi Chapter of Alpha Chi Honor Society and acknowledged as one of East Texas’ Healthcare Heroes – Nurses by UT Tyler, holds a PhD in nursing from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Additionally, she earned a post-bachelor's certificate in nursing informatics, quality & safety from UT Tyler.
