UTA Professor Named Fellow by Asia-Pacific AI Association for Innovations in Energy-Efficient AI

Qilian Liang, PhD, MS

Congratulations to Qilian Liang, a Distinguished University Professor at The University of Texas at Arlington, for being named a fellow by the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA). He joins a distinguished group of UTA faculty members who have received this honor. Liang's research focuses on sensor networks, wireless communications, signal processing, and artificial intelligence, with recent recognition for his work in making AI technology faster and more energy-efficient through a National Science Foundation grant. His efforts in designing deep-learning hardware accelerators aim for significant improvements in energy use and speed.
