Dallas College Advances to Final Round of Community College Innovation Challenge with AMBER Project

The American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), in collaboration with the National Science Foundation (NSF), announced the 12 finalist teams for the Community College Innovation Challenge (CCIC) slated for June 2024. Among them, Dallas College stands out with their project "Autonomous Monitoring for Blaze Emergency Response (AMBER)." This initiative pioneers an early detection system utilizing infrared cameras and sensors to alert farmers and local authorities to fire risks, especially in agricultural regions. The goal is to facilitate swift response actions, mitigate damage, and safeguard community well-being, all while conserving precious agricultural land.
