Proposition 5 Boosts Support for TTU Research Activities

The voters of Texas have approved Proposition 5, a constitutional amendment establishing the Texas University Fund (TUF). With over 60% support, the state can create a $3.9 billion endowment to bolster research activities at Texas universities. Texas Tech University expects an allotment of $44 million for fiscal year 2024 from the TUF, dedicated to supporting its research initiatives.

"The Texas University Fund (TUF) heralds a transformative era for research at Texas Tech University," says President Lawrence Schovanec. He expresses gratitude to the Texas Legislature and voters for their support, emphasizing the potential benefits for future generations in terms of opportunities, innovation, and technology.
