UTA Researchers Recognized as Senior Members by National Academy of Inventors

The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) has honored two University of Texas at Arlington faculty members, Sherri McFarland and Venu Varanasi, by naming them as senior members in recognition of their innovative contributions.

Sherri McFarland, a professor of chemistry and biochemistry, has made significant strides in scientific research, evident from her numerous patented technologies that have been licensed. She is also commended for her exceptional dedication to mentoring students, making her a deserving recipient of this accolade.

Venu Varanasi, an associate professor of graduate nursing, has been recognized for his pioneering research in biomaterials and regenerative medicine. His appointment as a senior member of the NAI acknowledges his tireless efforts and dedication throughout his career, with a special emphasis on his impactful mentorship of students. Both McFarland and Varanasi's achievements reflect UTA's commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in research.
