United Health Care Grant Bolsters Rural Medical Mission Trips at UNTHSC-TCOM

United Health Care's grant to the Office of Rural Medical Education at The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth's Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNTHSC-TCOM) is a significant investment in addressing healthcare disparities in rural Texas. This grant marks a pivotal moment for UNTHSC-TCOM's efforts to provide essential medical services to underserved communities.

With this funding, UNTHSC-TCOM will be able to organize two one-week medical mission trips, targeting rural areas in Texas where access to healthcare is limited. These trips not only deliver much-needed medical care to residents but also serve as invaluable learning experiences for medical students. By immersing themselves in the realities of rural healthcare delivery, students gain firsthand exposure to the challenges and rewards of practicing medicine in underserved areas.
