Encouraging STEM Careers Through Beauty

Kristen Wells-Collins

Dallas-based scientist Kristen Wells-Collins is redefining entry points into the beauty industry. Through her initiative, Black to the Lab, she encourages young girls to explore unconventional career paths like scientific communication and cosmetic chemistry by providing them with a $30 toy makeup kit. This kit not only allows children as young as six to create their own beauty products but also educates them about the science behind these formulations, ultimately promoting STEM careers.
